Specifications include, but are not limited to: The State requests proposals for a FPA that will achieve the following: 1. Issue an RFP to subcontractors who will: • Provide necessary maintenance of 10-20 agricultural riparian buffer sites pre-selected by the Advisory Board, where gaps in funding have left projects in need of additional support. This maintenance may include but is not limited to replantings, invasive species control, and weed management. The current list of sites and needs at each site is posted as a separate attached to this RFP. Note: some locations may change or be added. Funds awarded will need to cover the cost of plants and materials. Maintenance recommendations will be provided by the Advisory Board. • Install 10-20 agricultural riparian buffers that include innovative techniques such as hydroseeding, using native seeds, different types of site preparation, higher density seeding, and innovative methods of invasive species control. Projects will need to be reviewed by the FPA with assistance from the Advisory Board. These innovative techniques may be on the buffer sites in the prior bullet where maintenance is needed. • Revisit sites through the 2026 growing season and summarize successes and/or challenges at all sites. 2. Coordinate communication between the Advisory Board and any subcontractors to ensure appropriate methods and prioritization of projects. 3. Conduct a minimum of three trainings onsite with conservation partners on the establishment and stewardship of agricultural riparian buffers. At least one training will focus on lessons/learned from innovative plantings; at least one training will focus on planting techniques and how to increase survivability. Trainings will be a minimum of half day and will be located in areas central to partners. The successful contractor can conduct the training or subcontract (no additional funds will be available.)
