Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Contractor will complete all structures, grading, base course (salvage), base course, erosion control, permanent signing, interim surfacing (as allowed by seasonal limitations), temporary interim surfacing (as specified below), and pavement marking and restore all traffic to SD 25 by the November 15, 2024 interim completion date. The seasonal limitation for the application of the Type 3 Cover Aggregate is September 15, 2024. The Contractor’s earth moving and interim surfacing operations will follow the requirements shown in the plans. The Contractor will apply prime oil and as much of the Type 3 cover aggregate as possible before the September 15, 2024 seasonal limitation. The Department anticipates a portion of the project will not have the Type 3 cover aggregate applied by the September 15, 2024 seasonal limitation. The Contractor will apply dust control chlorides as a temporary interim surface on the remaining portion of the project by the November 15, 2024 interim completion date. The Contractor is responsible for all surface maintenance, except snow removal, of that portion of the project that does not have the Type 3 Cover Aggregate applied. This maintenance will include, but is not limited to, all blading and patching as deemed necessary by the Engineer to adequately maintain traffic. This maintenance will be continuous throughout the winter and spring, until the final surface is complete. The Department will not make payment for the maintenance required. The Contractor will reshape the base course surface in the spring of 2025 back to the plans shown typical section, at no additional cost to the Department.
