Specifications include, but are not limited to: The State of North Dakota, acting through its State Historical Society of North Dakota (the STATE) is soliciting proposals for an archive writer/microfilm plotter to convert digital data/files to microfilm for long-term preservation. A. DELIVERABLES The contractor will be required to provide the following to achieve the objective of this project: 1. Archive writer/microfilm plotter that will transfer images from digital files onto microfilm. Required specifications of the archive writer include: a. Ability to write black & white and grayscale images on 100ft silver halide microfilm roll; ability to write color images on color microfilm roll. b. Ability to write to 16mm and 35mm microfilm. c. Accept standard file-formats including PDF, TIFF, and JPEG. Ability to write images with these file types onto microfilm. d. Ability to write images of up to A0 size documents onto a single frame of microfilm. e. Ability to easily organize and re-sort files within software before output to microfilm. f. Ability to include a leader at the beginning of the microfilm roll (to facilitate threading through viewing and digitization equipment). g. Ability to print multiple title batches onto one roll and ability to include leader within roll for separation between titles (when printing multiple titles on one roll). h. Ability to perform image editing functions within software, including batch rotation and batch cropping of images. i. Ability to add metadata or include PDFs of explanatory documentation (roll numbers, bibliographic records, etc.) onto microfilm as needed. j. Software compatible with Windows 10 operating system (or newer); intent to support newer operating systems or upgrades to current operating systems. 2. Contractor provided on-site installation, training, and support for up to three days. 3. Nine-month on-site maintenance/service contract. 4. At least one year warranty on parts.
