Specifications include, but are not limited to: Task 1 – Existing Data Review The respondent shall review existing reports, drawings and operational data provided by MWW in order to familiarize themselves with existing conditions and operations. Task 2 – Alternatives Analysis Based on the information provided, existing conditions and operational goals, the respondent shall develop a list of improvement alternatives. At a minimum, the following alternatives shall be considered: • Provide new backwash pumps with suction from the existing clearwell (approximately 700,000 gallons) • Provide new backwash pumps with suction from a newly constructed storage tank • Maintain existing backwash supply from the Low Service System as an emergency backup. Once the alternatives have been reviewed and screened by MWW, a preferred alternative will be selected for further analysis. Task 3 – Conceptual Design The respondent shall prepare conceptual designs of the preferred alternative consisting of: • Drawings taken to approximately 10% complete level • List of anticipated specifications • Opinion of probable cost for the preferred alternative Task 4 – Letter Report The work performaed under Tasks 1 through 3 shall be summarized in a letter report. A draft letter report shall be submitted to MWW for review and comment. Once comments have been addressed by the respondent, a final letter report shall be submitted.
