Sarpy County is requesting proposals for inmate medical services for County detainees held at the Correctional Center. 1. Physician Services Provide weekly on-site and phone consultations of physician services with a physician, licensed in the State of Nebraska and in good standing, acting as the Site Medical Director and responsible for all medical decisions. Physician must be on call 24 hours per day 7 days a week to answer medical concerns. A backup physician must be provided. It is estimated these services will be used for approximately 2 ½ hours per week. 2. Nursing Services Provide nursing coverage on site 180 hours per week (a minimum of 12 hours per day 7 days per week including holidays) plus 40-hour administrative supervisor with an RN supervisor. The nursing staff will conduct sick call, triage medical requests, coordinate offsite treatment and services, perform medication management and distribution along with records management. By written agreement, the County and the vendor may increase or decrease hours. Vendor shall perform medical screening within forty-eight (48) hours of admission unless a positive medical answer is received during intake or as required by other regulations. Vendor shall provide twenty-four (24) hour on-call coverage during non-staffing hours. 3. Dental Services Provide dental evaluations, cleaning, screening, hygiene instruction and to stabilize, provide referral and to coordinate services for off-site care. Cost of off-site care will be the responsibility of the County.
