The City of Meridian is soliciting Qualifications to Pre-Qualify prospective Licensed Drilling Contractors per Idaho Code 67-2805 (b) to bid on the construction project described in the Scope of Work (Part III). Contractors must hold a current Unlimited Idaho Public Works Contractors License and must be licensed to drill and construct water-supply wells under current State of Idaho regulations at the time the Contractor submits a bid for this work. This project will involve the following work for Production Well 34: • Mobilizing to the well site and setting up all equipment and materials for the drilling, construction, development, and testing of one new water supply well. • Providing erosion control for all work on site. • Advancing a minimum 28-inch diameter borehole and installing 24-inch diameter mild steel surface casing into clay unit at approximately 50 feet below ground surface (bgs), providing at least three feet of casing stickup above ground surface. • Sealing the annular space between the 24-inch diameter surface casing and the minimum 28-inch diameter borehole with ¾-inch bentonite chips from ground surface to approximately 50 feet below bgs. For bidding purposes, assume the casing and seal will be installed to 50 feet bgs. • Drilling a maximum 10-inch diameter pilot borehole to 820 feet bgs (depth is for bidding purposes). • Completing a plumbness and alignment survey of the pilot borehole. • Completing borehole geophysics in the pilot borehole.
