Specifications include, but are not limited to: B. Phase 1: 1. The Contractor shall construct 24-inch water main from STA 54+08.25 to STA 52+25.00 including: a. The Pressure Reducing Valve Vault. A flanged spool shall be installed in place of the pressure reducing control valve until Phase 2 is complete. b. The water main service connection at STA 52+93.42 and the water main service connection at STA 53+93.52 c. The temporary blow-off at STA 52+25.00. This temporary blow-off shall remain in place until Phase 2 is complete. Flushing and sampling locations to be coordinated with Lincoln Water System. 2. The Contractor shall complete the Existing Water Main – Removals as shown on sheet No. 14. in the Drawings and construct 24” water main from STA 54+08.25 21.37’RT to STA 54+08.25 13.25’ LT including the Blowoff at STA 54+08.25 13.25’ LT. C. Phase 2: 1. The Contractor shall construct 24-inch water main from STA 10+00.00 to STA 52+15.00 including the water main connection at STA 10+00.00. Flushing and sampling locations to be coordinated with Lincoln Water System. 2. The Contractor shall construct temporary blow-off at STA 52+15.00. This blow-off shall remain in-place until testing is complete. 3. The Contractor shall remove the temporary blow-offs from Phase 1 and Phase 2 when testing is complete for both phases. The Contractor shall install 24-inch water from STA 52+15.00 to STA 52+25.00 to connect Phase 1 piping to Phase 2 piping. Contractor to coordinate the connection with Lincoln Water System. 4. The Contractor shall install the pressure reducing control valve in the Pressure Reducing Valve Vault and complete calibration. Pressure reducing control settings shall be coordinated and confirmed with Lincoln Water System. D. The Contractor may submit an alternate project phasing plan prior to or during construction. 1. This alternate project phasing plan must be approved by the City Project Manager and Lincoln Water System. 2. Changes to the phasing plan shall be submitted in writing to the City Project Manager at least 7 days prior to beginning work impacted by the proposed change to the phasing. E. The construction of the project will require shutdowns and disruptions of water service. For the purposes of bidding, the Contractor should understand that the shutdowns and disruption of water service shall be coordinated with Lincoln Water System and all impacted customers and may require after-hours construction.
