Specifications include, but are not limited to: I. Turf Mowing: a. Turf shall be mowed at the appropriate height to keep a neat appearance and to the satisfaction of TSTC. The supplier is required to use the proper mowing equipment in the given Colored Zone. b. Excessive clippings are to be collected and removed from the job site at the end of each visit and to the satisfaction of TSTC. c. Clippings are not to be left overnight for removal the following day. The use of bagging attachments is recommended but not required. d. All damages incurred by the supplier will be either charged back or amount to be removed from invoice/payment. II. Turf Edging: a. Edging and trimming along curbs, walks, etc. All hard edges shall be mechanically edged during the growing season. b. Turf along curbs and sidewalks that cannot be addressed with routine edging operations due to broken curbs or uneven borders are to be weed-eated using appropriate equipment. c. Edging that cannot be addressed during regular visits due to vehicle obstructions, must be scheduled when vehicle obstructions are not present. III. Turf Fertilization & Weed Control: a. A well-balanced fertilizer and granular pre-emergent is requested to maintain a healthy green color and shall be applied based upon TSTC and/or supplier’s knowledge and needs of the area. IV. Shredding Services: a. Grass shredding services refer to professional landscaping solutions aimed at efficiently reducing the height of native/other grasses across Yellow acreage Zones. This service is essential for maintaining the aesthetic appeal and health of these areas. While TSTC does not mandate methodology, this type of work is traditionally conducted with heavier lawn equipment, to include tractors, shredders/batwing/bush-hogs…etc equipment. Rarely, will TSTC request additional services in these areas; to include but not limited to: blowing, weed eating, edging…etc. V. Trash And Debris Removal: a. During maintenance visits, the supplier is responsible for removing trash and debris from the zone. b. Curbs, sidewalks, etc., are to be cleaned with blowers and/or brooms to maintain a neat appearance. c. Heavy accumulations of grass, leaves, etc., are to be removed with a shovel and brooms if blowers provide unsatisfactory results. VI. Tree And Shrub Maintenance: a. When applicable, plant material is to be pruned in a manner to provide a neat and clean appearance and to the satisfaction of TSTC. Trimming and selective pruning techniques are left to the discretion of the supplier. Regular services will be required throughout the calendar year. b. Shrubs shall be pruned to retain a neat and clean shape, to promote bloom, and to meet accepted horticultural practices. TSTC’s goal is that growth be kept from encroaching on signs, walkways, driveways, and ventilation units. c. All formal hedges shall be trimmed to maintain desired shape and height. d. Dead or damaged plants should be brought to TSTC’s attention. e. Plant material may be fertilized with a balanced slow release fertilizer. f. The supplier and TSTC will monitor plant material for signs of disease and insect infestations. If plants are affected appropriate recommendations for treatment shall be submitted to TSTC. g. Deep cut selective pruning and hard cutbacks may be performed on plant material during winter months for corrective and restorative purposes. h. All mulched shrub beds, maintained natural areas and walking paths, may be treated with pre-emergence and post-emergence chemicals to control weeds. i. All pruning debris is the responsibility of the supplier. No debris may be disposed of on-site without the expressed permission of TSTC. VII. Ground Cover And Beds: a. Open ground between plants may be treated by using manual, mechanical, or chemical methods as to not hurt other planting material. b. Groundcovers may be fertilized, with a complete fertilizer, as appropriate and as recommended by the supplier. c. Litter and debris shall be removed during maintenance visits in order to ensure a neat appearance. d. Bedding areas will be kept trimmed within curbs and along walkways. e. Sign surfaces will be kept clear of encroaching growth.
