The Delaware State Fire School has been tasked by the Delaware House to ascertain the inventory of all Aqueous Film Forming Form (AFFF) containing PFAS currently stored within the local Fire Departments and to propose a plan for the disposal and replacement. The inventory identified approximately 30 fire trucks with various sized foam tanks and a number of portable foam application devices, approximately 7,000 gallons collectively. The Delaware State Fire School is looking for a vendor who can meet the needs to remove and properly dispose of existing foam, clean foam tanks using an approved method, and provide a new, safe alternative foam. The intention is for the vendor to set up a location designated (gravel lot) by the Fire School for all work to be performed, with firefighting equipment coming to the dedicated location for foam removal, tank cleaning, and foam replenishment. The Fire School and awarded vendor will determine a timeline that best meets the needs of the project, while minimizing the impact to the local departments. The Vendor shall take precautions during the project not to damage the premises or any fire department property. If damage does occur during the project, the Vendor is responsible for ensuring the premises or fire department property is returned/restored to their original condition or the Vendor shall make restitution, as agreed up on by all parties.
