The pug mill must have a maximum batch size of approximately 140 pounds of moist clay with batch mixing capability to include full batch mixing and blending to allow for moisture adjustment before pugging. The capacity may vary some to allow for differences in material density and moisture content. The mixing rate shall be 500 pounds per hour and the pugging rate shall be 1500 pounds per hour. The resulting pug size shall be 3.5” round. Approximate dimensions for the product shall be 30” in length, 20” in width and 46” in height with a shipping weight of about 400 pounds. The hopper door shall be 9” x 9”. The pug mill will have an aluminum alloy mixing/pugging chamber with stainless steel shaft augers and paddles. There will also be a cleanable work surface on the top for operator convenience. The entire product will have 8” diameter wheels for easy transportation. There will be push button controls to switch between Mix, Pug, and Stop mounted for easy access from the operator’s side of the machine. Electrical capability is 2 horsepower single phase with 16 amps at 240 volts. A minimum 2 year warranty is required.
