Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1. Technical Specifications All work under this contract shall conform to the 2016 New Hampshire Department of Transportation (NHDOT) “Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction”, (NHDOT Standard Specifications) and City of Dover, New Hampshire Department of Community Services “Construction Guidelines, Permits, Rules, and Regulations”; discrepancies between the two documents shall be brought to the attention of the City prior to completing the work. The following Supplemental Specifications are to be used in conjunction with the NHDOT Standard Specifications and are herein made part of the contract: Section Description 401 Plant Mix Pavements – General 403 Hot Bituminous Pavement 410 Bituminous Surface Treatment 609 Curbs All requirements as set forth in the NHDOT Standard Specifications and Supplement Specifications are applicable except as modified or changed herein. 2. Materials and Equipment Any pavement mixture delivered to the hopper having a temperature lower than 260⁰F shall not be used. Equipment used in the performance of the work required by this section of the specifications shall be maintained in a satisfactory working condition at all times. Total Reused Binder (TRB) ≤ 1.0%, minimum Pavement mix designs shall be submitted to the City for review and approval. 3. Placement A. The existing surface shall be thoroughly dry and free from all dust, dirt and loose material. Sweeping with a power broom, supplemented by hand brooming, may be necessary and is incidental to the work. B. The Contractor shall make cut-in joints a minimum of 10 feet wide by 1.5 inches deep on all side streets, starting points and ending points, bridge, and railroad track transitions or as deemed necessary by the Engineer. NOTE: These cut-in joints will be considered incidental to the work and will not be paid for under the Item 417 Cold Planning Bituminous Surfaces. A tack coat of emulsified asphalt shall be used on all cold joints. Fillet shall be installed on all cut in joints until paving occurs. C. Paving radius flares at intersections and three (3) feet into driveways will not be considered handwork and will be paid under the tonnage price for Item 403.11043 HBP – ½” Surface Mix, Machine Method.
