The Vermont Fish and Wildlife Department (VFWD) is seeking proposals from qualified consultants to plan, design, permit, and oversee implementation of wetland restoration projects on 8 or more parcels in the Lake Champlain drainage basin. These projects are associated with the VFWD’s wetland conservation and restoration initiative that is funded by Lake Champlain Basin Program U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) dollars to conserve and restore degraded wetlands within the Lake Champlain basin. Restoration work is focused on water quality improvement as well as improved habitat for wetland dependent wildlife. Restoration outcomes may include a range of wetland types including shallow emergent wetlands, scrub/shrub wetlands, forested wetlands, etc. Consultants will work as part of a team with other biological staff in the VFWD to design, plan, implement, and oversee all necessary wetland restoration efforts associated with 8 existing projects, with the potential for additional projects, as identified in the Scope of Services. An example existing draft restoration plan is attached as reference in Exhibit 1.
