Specifications include, but are not limited to: The City is moving forward on upgrading Washington Street with new pavement, in the form of a full width 2” mill and fill, and finishing off of the rail trail from Maurices Trailer Sales out to the parking lot across from Old Newport Road. May include one or a combination of the following tasks with descriptions listed below that the contractor shall follow: • ADJUSTING STRUCTURES: o Sewer manholes, water valve boxes, and drainage catch basin and manholes adjusted as needed. Determine unit pricing for lowering or raising structures. o Claremont DPW may elect to adjust some structures • TIMELINE OF WORK: o Work will commence on or after July 1st, 2024. o Work will be completed on or before June 1 st, 2025. o Proposed nightwork for all work to be done in the road. 8 pm to 5 am. This is a very heavily travelled portion of road with several intersections and entrances to deal with. • PAVEMENT MILLING: o Milling - Existing pavement surfaces shall be milled to a depth of approximately 2” deep, for an estimated 71,000 square yards. o All pavement saw cutting may be completed after grinding operations. All 3” or larger asphalt chunks that are not ground shall be removed from the site by the contractor and disposed of at the DPW prior to paving. Bidder to haul millings to 8 Grandview Street, Claremont, NH. • CLAREMONT DPW: o Will need to do water, sewer, and drainage improvements. DPW expects to have utility work completed soon after grinding. • SAW CUT/ MILLED JOINTS: o To match all existing pavement depth. This item is subsidiary to all other work on the project
