Specifications include, but are not limited to: The equipment shall be of a new, current design production model and available to the commercial market. The bid shall include one (1) copy of the manufacturer's published specification and warranty. The City reserves the right to review the manufacturer's specifications and choose the unit deemed to be in the City's best interest. The equipment shall comply with all state and federal safety requirements. Any deviations to these specifications shall be explained. Fire Hydrants shall be of standard manufacture and conform to AWWA C502. Hydrants shall be designed to be disassembled for maintenance without excavation. The barrel and operating mechanism shall be designed so that the main valve will remain closed in the event of an accident, damage, or breaking. Hydrants must have 5-1/4” valve opening and three-way (4-1/2” and 2-1/2”) openings. The following models are approved based on the City Ordinance 6331 or approved equivalent, because of requirements for spare parts and the need to standardize the hydrants: Mueller Centurion A423; Clow Medallion; 2 1/2 FT Bury Line Hydrant 1 Each; 3 FT Bury Line Hydrant 1 Each; 3 1/2 FT Bury Line Hydrant 1 Each; 4 FT Bury Line Hydrant 1 Each; 4 1/2 FT Bury Line Hydrant 1 Each; 5 FT Bury Line Hydrant 1 Each; Clow Medallion Extension Kits 1 Each; Mueller Centurion A423 Extension Kits 1 Each
