Specifications include, but are not limited to: The City of Hot Springs, Arkansas, on behalf of the Utilities Department, is accepting bids to purchase sodium hypochlorite for use by the water treatment facilities as a disinfectant in the water treatment process as a term contract (TC). The following specifications describe the minimum requirements. Any deviations to these specifications shall be explained. Material supplied under this specification shall be a solution containing a 15% minimum concentration of available chlorine by volume and/or 12.5% by weight at the point of delivery. Material shall meet AWWA Standard B300 and NSF 60/61. The chlorine and caustic soda used for the manufacture of sodium hypochlorite shall be virgin material and meet the requirements of the latest AWWA Standards for each. Chlorine AWWA Standard B301-10 and Caustic Soda AWWA Standard B501-08 or the latest revision.
