Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Town of Swanzey (the Town) is seeking Statements of Qualifications from professional engineering firms to complete a comprehensive facility and feasibility study on the West Swanzey Wastewater Treatment Plant. The Town is looking to prepare for an additional 40,000 to 60,000 gpd of flow to account for future growth, as the current system is reaching its flow and loading capacity. The plant is also approaching its permitted phosphorus limit. The current phosphorus removal system has a capacity of only 80,000 gpd. A limited facility planning study performed by Underwood Engineering (attached) recommended short and long-term ways to address the phosphorus levels. The Town is interested in investigating all potential alternatives, including extending the West Swanzey collection systems to the City of Keene facility. • Review available existing information and perform site visits, if necessary • Evaluate alternatives for plant capital improvements • Evaluate alternatives for improved phosphorus removal • Evaluate capital upgrade costs of final recommendations • Prepare a final facility planning study report
