The unit must have a minimum of three (3) bedrooms. The program looks to lease each unit for a minimum of three (3) years with the grant paying one, all-inclusive, flat rate per month to landlord(s). The monthly rental unit cost must factor in the following requirements: fully furnished (new) with all major appliances; utility costs – water, cable, sewer, trash; homeowner’s insurance; general internal equipment/appliances/furniture and external maintenance; and any other costs the landlord decides to include in the flat monthly rental rate. The No Lead Grant Program staff will ensure the relocated clients maintain units in good condition during the three-year term of occupancy. Landlords are responsible for regular maintenance of house systems and outside yard, sidewalks and related landlord/tenant code requirements. The NCC No-Lead Program will provide COVID certified cleaners between each tenant stay. OBJECTIVE To provide New Castle County’s No-lead program lead safe housing for its who are temporarily displaced while receiving lead and healthy homes remediation services. The average stay per client is 15 business days. The tenant contract will be with New Castle County; not the individual clients
