Specifications include, but are not limited to: COLLECTION REQUIREMENTS 1) Cones will be collected only from stands/trees selected by IDL or as directed by the COR. 2) All cones from selected trees will be collected unless otherwise directed by the COR. 3) Only fully ripened cones free from insect and disease will be accepted, which will be at the COR’s discretion. 4) Cones need to have stem cleanly severed at the base of the cone, and handled gently at all times to avoid damage to seed embryos. 5) Cones will only be collected using methods stipulated in the attached project description or as directed by the COR. 6) Care will be taken to keep the cone collection free of excessive debris such as leaves, sticks, weed seed etc. 7) Immediately upon collection, all cones will be placed in collection bags by state personnel with no more than one bushel of cones placed in each bag or as directed by the COR. Contractor maybe required to assist state in placing cones in bags as directed by the COR. Bags will be labeled by IDL personnel using IDL’s Seed and Cone Identification Tags.
