Specifications include, but are not limited to: 3.1.1 Develop and maintain a steering committee or board of directors consisting of businesses from the community area. This shall also include a representative from the Division of Rehabilitation Services and individuals with disabilities who represent a business/industry. 3.1.2 The scope of work will identify how the offeror will provide educational opportunities to businesses in the community area regarding the employment of individuals with disabilities; create a greater awareness to businesses in the community area on the benefits of hiring and retaining individuals with disabilities as employees; serve as a resource for employees and businesses regarding employment opportunities and workplace accommodations; and conduct/promote events that provide awareness and education of employing individuals with disabilities. The scope of work should include measurable goals. At a minimum, the following terms should be included: 3.1.2.1 The types and number of educational presentations to businesses in the community area regarding the employment of individuals with disabilities, such as: disability etiquette and awareness, workplace accommodations, ADA information and resources, tax incentives available to employers who hire and retain employees with disabilities, etc. 3.1.2.2 Specify the types and partnerships with businesses and associations, such as the Chamber of Commerce, Society of Human Resource Management, Economic Development Corporations, Small Business Development Corporation, etc. 3.1.2.3 The types and number of on-site consultations or presentations in creating a greater awareness to businesses in the community area on the benefits of hiring and retaining of individuals with disabilities. 3.1.2.4 The number and description of mentoring activities connecting businesses with youth with disabilities. 3.1.2.5 The frequency and types of information/resources being provided to businesses and the community through a website and other social media. 3.1.2.6 The type and frequency of activities in working or coordinating with the providers in the community being served. 3.1.3 Develop a detailed work/project plan that will contain items identified in 3.1.2 and the associated project management techniques in which will be utilized. 3.1.3.1 The work/project plan will contain performance measures that will be monitored by quarterly reports. The performance measures developed will demonstrate the impact of their services to promote employment of people with disabilities. 3.1.3.2 The work/project plan will contain the proposed project management techniques. 3.1.4 Participate in the planning and preparation of National Disability Employment Awareness Month activities in the community with other community partners. 3.1.5 Compile or produce marketing products/materials for sponsored events that will enhance the employment of individuals with disabilities and will also be made available for other communities in South Dakota.
