Specifications include, but are not limited to: The self-contained rotary snow blower shall be a two-stage unit including distinct input and discharge stages. The input first stage input auger shall cut and force the snow into the second stage discharge impeller. The rotary plow unit shall be designed and built to withstand hard and continuous use in temperatures to -40 degrees F. The rotary plow unit shall have the capacity to displace a minimum of 3000 tons of snow per hour with a casting distance of 150 feet when measured from the center of the snow loader. The performance requirement is based on snow with a unit weight of 25 to 30 pounds per cubic foot. The two-stage, self-contained snow blower shall mount to front of the wheel loader. A. Operating weight: 9,000 minimum - 12,000 pounds maximum. B. Snow Blower Drive Engine: The snow blower drive engine shall be a turbocharged, diesel engine. Engine shall be equipped or shall include the features specified, unless otherwise stated. a. Engine shall have an intermittent rating of 400 horsepower minimum b. Emergency shutdown: To be mounted externally on engine housing, right or left side. c. Equipped with automatic derating or shut down for engine protection during overheating and/or low oil pressure, monitored from cab of wheel loader. d. Engine enclosure to include engine access panels that provide convenient access to the engine. e. Instrument panel gauges: To be equipped with oil pressure, hydrostatic pressure, and tachometer gauges mounted on or in engine compartment. f. Cold Weather Starting Aid: Electric block heater required; battery heater required. g. Air Cleaner: Two-stage dry type with restriction indicator.
