Specifications include, but are not limited to:The State seeks proposals for the following: Task #1 Brushing • Once before October 30, 2024, cut all woody brush, trees, and vegetation that are four inches diameter at breast height (DBH) and less: Sub-Task 1A: Perform brushing at the following seven (7) dams: Dam Area (acres) Waterbury Dam 22 Wrightsville Dam 15 East Barre Dam 9 Wolcott Pond Dam 0.3 Silver Lake Dam 0.1 Crystal Lake Dam 0.3 Lake Groton Dam 0.4 Total 47.1 Sub-Task 1B: In addition, provide an hourly and mileage rate to perform brushing on an on-call/as needed basis at other DEC/ANR-owned dams. • Brush shall be cut in all designated locations as required by the State and as shown on the attached plans or as agreed upon in the field with State personnel. Stumps shall be no higher than 2 (two) inches above the ground or top of riprap. All branches shall be removed from any remaining stumps. • Handheld power brush cutters or loppers are to be used on any riprap or hand laid stone. Tracked or wheeled equipment is not allowed on any riprap or hand laid stone.; Task #2 Mowing and Trimming • Once per contract term, between August 15 and October 31, 2024, mow and trim grass at the following five (5) dams: Sub-Task 2A: Perform mowing at the following five (5) dams: Dam Area (acres) Waterbury Dam 8.0 Wrightsville Dam 9.0 East Barre Dam 14.0 Wolcott Pond Dam 0.3 Crystal Lake Dam 0.1 Total 31.4 Sub-Task 2B: In addition, provide an hourly and mileage rate to perform mowing on an on-call/as needed basis at other DEC/ANR-owned dams. • Mowing is to be performed in locations required by the State and as shown on the attached plan sheets or as agreed upon in the field with State personnel. Maintain an ordinary lawn condition, i.e., maximum height of mowed grass shall not exceed four (4) inches. • It is anticipated that mowing will be accomplished with tractors with rotary mowers, wheeled mowers, and handheld string trimmers. Care shall be taken to not cause rutting or undue ground disturbance. • Trim around all guard rail posts, conduits, and other appurtenances to meet maximum four (4) inch height requirement.
