Specifications include, but are not limited to: A. This work shall consist of furnishing, placing white and yellow retro reflective paint pavement markings. All work shall conform to standards and sizes as detailed by the New Hampshire Department of Transportation Standard Specifications for Road & Bridge Construction for the following parts of Section 632 – Retro reflective pavement markings – (these details are available from the State of New Hampshire Department of Transportation). Section 2.1 & 2.2 Section 3.1.1; 3.1.2 thru 3.1.5; & 3.2 Section 4.1 thru 4.3 Section 5.1 & 5.2. Paint thickness shall follow manufactures instructions or 15 mil, whichever is greater. B. Contractor shall furnish and have available for the City’s use, the following inspection equipment: • Wet Film Thickness Gauge: Scales which range from 2 to 30 mils in 2 mil increments (200 to 700 um in 25 um increments) • Pocket Microscope: Scope having a four-part lens system with magnification of 20x and a clip-on accessory light • Striping Calibration Kit: Volumetric bead calibration kit shall be complete with instructions, as manufactured by Potters Industries, Inc., or approved equal C. Work is expected to begin as soon as the contract is awarded and the weather allows. Starting date will be agreed upon with the successful contractor before final award of contract. All work must be completed June 8th, 2024. If not complete the contractor shall be assessed a fee of $50/day for each day past June 8th, 2024. D. The City of Claremont reserves the right to reject any or all bids. E. Contractors shall put out signs and cones warning the motoring public of painting in progress. F. All work shall be completed during evening/night hours to minimize delays and potential cars driving on wet paint. G. The contractor shall be responsible for any claims of paint on vehicles and calls will be directed to the contractor.
