Specifications include, but are not limited to: The project includes the expansion and conversion of the existing St. Joseph Energy Center Water Treatment Plant (SJEC WTP) near New Carlisle, IN to support the proposed GM plant. The SJEC Phase 2 Expansion and Potable Water Treatment Conversion - Increasing the SJEC WTP filtration capacity by 6 MGD to capacity of 12 MGD, as well as converting the existing facility to a potable drinking water treatment plant. Raw water piping from the new Wells No. 3, 4 and 5. The following is a general summary of the work associated with this project: a. Three pressure filters, each containing two filter cells, associated process water piping, controls, power wiring and control wiring will be designed to produce to up to 6 million gallons per day (MGD) of water. b. A new approximately 0.4MG ground storage tank c. Improvements to the sodium hypochlorite chemical feed system including two (2) chemical feed pumps and associated interior and site process piping, control and power wiring. d. Modifications to the piping for the high service pumps, and below grade filtered water piping. e. Site piping f. Site improvements and restoration. g. Electrical power and control improvements. h. Structural, concrete, masonry and plumbing. i. Partial demolition, building restoration.
