The STATE is soliciting proposals for Automated Vehicle Location (AVL) Solution. The AVL solution will benefit NDDOT by monitoring snowplow operations and status, and collecting data from the material controllers, manual data entries, and other on-board equipment on the snowplows. This will provide consistency and efficiency in snow and ice control operations throughout the state to improve winter driving conditions and data-based decision making. This project will deliver a Commercially Off The Shelf (COTS) or Software as a Service (SaaS) AVL solution to provide real-time tracking, data management, and monitoring of the STATE’s snowplow fleet. The project will automate business processes and deliver core requirements to serve as the sustainable foundation for snowplow fleet management. The project is estimated to complete by the third quarter of 2025.
