Specifications include, but are not limited to: The NDDOT will be installing two lidar based over-height systems to detect and warn drivers of a low bridge near the 16th St crossing on US 2 in Minot. The two over-height detectors will communicate with a DMS to notify drivers when over height to exit US 2 prior to the 16th St bridge. A lidar based 3D vehicle measurement system will be installed on I-29 NB near RP 23. This system will alert drivers if they are over width, height, or length. The measurement devices must be positioned over each lane of travel. This system will communicate with a DMS to notify drivers to pull into the weigh station ahead for further inspection if needed. This system will also integrate with our permit system to quickly verify the driver has the correct permit or is in compliance with that permit. These systems will be installed during the 2025 construction season. The systems will be installed as a part of project FTP-AID-9-999(354) which will include the installation of a mounting structure, poles and DMS to complete the system.
