The Bullet Recovery System, model BRS-101-48A, from Team Fabrication Inc best meets the needs of the Crime Laboratory and is made in the USA. Team Fabrication Inc has some pre-built tanks so the delivery time would be faster if purchased from them. This would allow the Firearms Unit to be online faster and process evidence for the entire state of North Dakota at an earlier date. Another benefit of this specific tank is it is easier to move when the Crime Laboratory either does an addition to the current laboratory or builds a new crime laboratory at another location, both of which are currently being evaluated by the state. This tank can be moved by staff on a dolly system that the manufacturer can supply if requested. This movable option does not exist with some of the other vendors and would possibly require the Crime Laboratory to purchase an entirely new tank set up if relocation was required. The Crime Laboratory has also been made aware of quality issues with other manufacturers that are not located in the USA and difficulty in securing repair or replacement services from those vendors. North Dakota Crime Laboratory needs to have a system that can be repaired as quickly as possible to ensure processing of evidence is done in a timely manner.
