Specifications include, but are not limited to: The scope of work consists of the loading, transportation and disposal of iron enriched liquid waste containing approximately 2.0% suspended solids from the City of Fernley Water Treatment Plant located at 1315 Mesa Drive in Fernley to any disposal facility that has been and is currently approved by the State of Nevada Bureau of Water Pollution Control. No alternative disposal sites will be considered. The specific constituents contained in the suspended solids are classified as non-hazardous. The most recent laboratory analysis report for permitting disposal at an approved disposal facility can be viewed on pages 9, 10 and 11. Bidders must have the ability to vacuum residual solids from solids holding tanks via a contractor supplied flex hose capable of attaching to the facility’s three inch female “Quick Coupler”. Any spills requiring cleanup, as determined by City Staff, caused by either the Contractor’s equipment or operations will be the responsibility of the Contractor to resolve. All fees and charges from the disposal facility shall be borne by the Contractor. Contractor shall also obtain all necessary permits from all State, Local and Federal jurisdictions for the transportation of the liquid waste from the Water Treatment Plant. All coordination regarding disposal requirements for the disposal facility shall be the responsibility of the Contractor. The City of Fernley will be responsible for the disposal facility sampling requirements. The anticipated waste hauling for this contract is estimated to be 400,000 gallons annually.
