Specifications include, but are not limited to: The BIMODAL LED blank-out signs shall be contained within an aluminum housing with a black powder coat finish. The housing shall be weatherproof conforming to NEMA 3R. Message shall be Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) R10-15 (TURNING VEHICLES YIELD/legend + symbol TO Pedestrians/symbol) sign and MUTCD R10-11b (NO TURN ON RED) /legend as shown in the Plans. Message legend and symbols shall be made up of discrete LEDs with a maximum pitch of 20 mm to cover the stroke width of the letters or symbol that simulate the static sign legend per the MUTCD. LED colors shall substantially conform to the color of the legend and symbols of the standard MUTCD sign. The LEDs shall be dimmable to adjust the LED brightness in accordance with ambient light conditions. The BIMODAL LED blank-out sign shall have the following dimensions 36” H x 36” W x 6” D. Total weight of the sign shall not be greater than 55 LBS. The face material of the sign shall be 1/8” impact resistant, smoke tinted polycarbonate. The BIMODAL LED blank-out sign shall operate with120-277 VAC. 645.066 Installation of BIMODAL LED Blank-Out Signs BIMODAL LED blank-out signs shall be designed for overhead/pole mounting. Signs shall be actuated in sequence from control logic provided at the traffic signal controller. Actuations shall turn the sign on; absence of actuation shall cause the sign to remain unlit\. The BIMODAL LED blank-out sign shall be mounted using the manufacturer recommended mounting hardware. The mounting hardware shall consist of a rotating stainless-steel bracket with stainless steel cable pole mounting attachments support. The BIMODAL LED blank-out sign shall be capable of attaching to the mounting hardware using aluminum mounting channels to provide rigid support of the blank-out sign.
