Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Podiatrist shall: 1. Provide podiatry services to individuals residing at the HDC to the fullest extent allowable by applicable state and federal law and the HDC on an as-needed basis. 2. Render services on-site at the requesting HDC. 3. Provide services in accordance with the scheduling of the requesting HDC. 4. Conduct an evaluation of individuals as designated by their Primary Care Physician (PCP) as needing podiatry services. 5. Take a history of individuals referred by the PCP and perform an appropriate examination. 6. Review progress and condition of each person referred. 7. Perform consultative medical and surgical services. Services to include but not limited to: patient evaluation, consultation, treatment, patient education, and surgery (i.e., corn and callus removal and treatment; trimming and/or removal of infected/ingrown toenails, treatment and removal of plantar warts), and other minor surgical procedures deemed necessary and consistent with standard and routine podiatry care. 8. Make a verbal report to the PCP and shall further make a written consultation on the patient's record(s). The written consultation shall include the findings, impression, and recommendations about management of findings. 9. Participate in team meetings as requested. 10. Respond within two (2) hours of each call.
