Specifications include, but are not limited to: Projects Eligible for funding include Best Management Practices designed to reduce phosphorus reaching Lake Champlain. The projects must be non-regulatory, not required by a permit (10 VSA, chapter 47), or subject to the requirements of the Vermont Agricultural Water Quality Statutes (6 VSA, Chapter 215) or the Vermont Accepted Management Practices for Logging (10 VSA, Chapter 47, 10 V.S.A. §1251a and 1259(f) and 10 V.S.A. §2622). Project eligibility must meet the Clean Water Investment Program (CWIP) 2023 Funding Policy guidelines, as well as current DEC guidelines.Eligible Project Types Include the Following: 1) Stormwater projects on developed lands that are not jurisdictional, or required by a permit 2) River corridor and stream restoration and protection 3) Floodplain restoration and protection 4) Riparian and lakeshore corridor restoration and protection 5) Woody riparian buffers associated with streams, wetlands, or ponds 6) Natural resources projects on agricultural lands, with VAAFM review 7) For forestry or wetland related projects, please contact Hilary or Barbara. These projects will be allowed in the future, but do not currently have enough guidance to proceed.
