Specifications include, but are not limited to: ● Power washing and removing soils, oil stains, trash, and weeds from the surfaces of the designated parking structures ● All pedestrian surfaces must be pressure washed with water of at least 180 degrees Fahrenheit. ● The Contractor must utilize appropriate commercial-grade equipment and utilize industry standard best practices and safety guidelines. ● Equipment must produce more than 85 dB at a distance of 10’ from the source. ● The pressure washing system must be equipped with a vacuum-operated wash water reclaim/recycle system that is capable of point-of-wash recovery, as applicable. The recovery rate of wash water shall be no less than 95%. ● The reclaim system will be equipped with an oil/water separator that can process reclaimed water to an oil contamination level of no more than 100 parts per million (ppm). ● In the recycle mode, the system should be capable of reducing water consumption by at least 90%. ● All reclaimed wash water management controls and processes will be submitted to the University’s Environmental Health Safety & Sustainability administrator for approval before starting work in any area. ● The Contractor will take all precautions to avoid creating any environmental hazards associated with its pressure washing services undertaken at the University’s campus. ● The Contractor shall take all necessary precautions to ensure the safety of BSU employees, staff, students, and the general public, and ensure the preservation of the facilities, equipment, and furniture. ● The Contractor shall be responsible for any damage to walls, foundations, doors, windows, fixtures, or other surrounding areas directly caused by the equipment, application methods, chemical spills, or the Contractor’s personnel during the pressure wash process. Any items damaged during pressure washing must be identified and repaired or replaced to the satisfaction of the University at the Contractor's sole expense. Payment for services may be withheld until all repairs are deemed completed. ● The Department of Public Safety (DPS) team will establish a schedule of specific areas that will need to be cleaned during specific weeks. That team will be in direct communication with the Contractor for the schedule including a walk-through of each area so that the requirements are clear before work is started. ● The Contractor shall adhere to all OSHA safety guidelines. ● The Contractor shall not enter into any subcontracts for any services described herein without obtaining prior written approval from the Boise State University Procurement Department. Any persons employed by the Contractor in support of the requirements of this contract shall be the sole responsibility of the Contractor; no additional compensation will be paid for any other than the recipient of the award. ● The Contractor shall display appropriate warning signs in all areas where pressure washing operations may cause traffic obstruction or personnel hazards. Signs/security tape shall contain easily understood directions. ● Boise State University reserves the right to modify the type and number of services being provided by the Contractor at its locations. All services are to be performed in accordance with the relevant scope of work and in compliance with all state and local building requirements, including the procurement of relevant building permits by the Contractor, as applicable. Services are to be provided to the University under the pricing submitted under this RFQ.
