Specifications include, but are not limited to: In furtherance of their commitment to maintaining a safe and secure environment to live, work, study and conduct research for its students, faculty, personnel and visitors, University Police Services, Southern Command, (“University Police Services”) on behalf of the University of Nevada Las Vegas (UNLV), Desert Research Institute, College of Southern Nevada and Nevada State University, each of the foregoing institutions as members of the Nevada System of Higher Education, seek qualified Contractors to provide the services of licensed, armed and uniformed security guards for a 6-7 month term (with possibility of extention); with an anticipated timeframe of: May 2024 through December 2024, contingent upon funding. These security services are necessary and appropriate given the needs and circumstances of these campuses and other appropriate considerations. Scope of Work for Security Services: 1) Contractor will provide Security Guard services which shall be provided between twelve (12) and fifteen (15) hours per day, seven (7) days per week, 365 days per year including holidays and college/university closures, except as otherwise noted, for the length of the contract. 2) Security Guards shall act in a professional manner to protect and safeguard students, employees, visitors and property. 3) General security of buildings and grounds: a. High Visibility foot and/or bicycle patrol of college/university grounds, to include: b. Emergency Services-provide assistance during critical incidents and emergencies with direction from University Police Services. c. Observation and reporting of criminal behavior, suspicious activity, incidents and safety hazards to University Police Services. d. Assistance/Escorts -General helpfulness and/or escorts in or out of facilities or spaces.
