The bidder is responsible for contacting the City to schedule any testing to obtain raw water quality analytics and for performing any necessary corrosion control studies. *DENSE SODA ASH -Truck must have 0.25 / 1/4” filter screen(s) adaptor when unloading to prevent any soda ash lumps, chunks and/or solids from being pumped into soda ash silo during delivery. **DENSE SODA ASH – No Independent haulers will be allowed. ***SODIUM BICARBONATE - No Independent haulers will be allowed. • Product: Sodium Bicarbonate, coarse grade, American made. Equivalent to Natrium Grade #6 • Sodium bicarbonate bulk density: 60lbs/cf minimum is required • Iron: not more than 5ppm • Chemical formula: NaHC03 • Molecular weight: 84.01 • Approximately use 334 lbs per day / 10,020 lbs per month, in bulk form at 64 Strafford Road WTP • Approximately 95 lbs per day / 3000 lbs per month in bag form at the 157 Farmington Road WTP. • Certificate of analysis stating product is approved as food grade and is of drinking water quality is required • Deliveries must be scheduled on clear dry days. Cancellation of scheduled deliveries due to unfavorable weather conditions is a possibility and will be rescheduled. • Before Sodium Bicarbonate is awarded to lowest bidder, a sample must be supplied to the Water Treatment Plant to check for product consistency.
