Specifications include, but are not limited to: provide trained, experienced, and qualified personnel to conduct falling weight deflectometer testing, roadway coring and ground penetrating radar services on selected rehabilitation/reconstruction design projects, and any potential future locations, as directed by the NDOT. Typically, the Contractor shall collect one (1) pavement core and soil sample per mile for selected projects unless otherwise stated. The FWD shall be used to measure deflection data on the selected lanes of proposed projects at a 0.1-mile interval (or other intervals after review and approval by M&R), on the evaluated lanes for each traveling direction to obtain a representative coverage of the entire roadway.; The Contractor shall also conduct Quality and Accuracy Control while performing the testing and coring projects. Data received from the coring, falling weight deflectometer, and ground penetrating radar services shall be reviewed and processed by qualified personnel who have a minimum of two (2) years’ experience in soil classification and falling weight deflectometer/ground penetrating radar data processing.
