1.1 This specification covers smooth wall polyethylene conduit, both coilable and straight section, for electric power and communication cables. The conduit shall be suitable for direct burial installation and directional boring construction. 1.2 The conduit outer surface shall be smooth and made in the following nominal sizes: 2, 4, 6 and 8 inches. 1.3 This conduit shall meet or exceed all applicable requirements of polyethylene conduit as defined in the latest revisions of the following industry standards and as stated in this specification. The conduit shall meet the requirements of these standards except where it conflicts with the requirements of this specification, in which case this specification shall apply.
