Specifications include, but are not limited to: A. The Work consists of roof replacement at two (2) separate facilities in Kenosha, WI for the County of Kenosha. B. Pringle Nature Center (Roof Area 1 – all shingled areas) 1. Overall scope (described further below): a. Removal of existing shingles and vented OSB/polyiso composite board (nailbase), and replacement with new vapor barrier, vented OSB/polyiso composite board, and asphalt shingles. 2. Existing construction a. The suspected construction of the existing roofing system to be removed, over a tongue & groove wood plank deck, consists of a felt underlayemnt, 4.5” OSB/insulation composite board (nailbase), and an asphalt shingle roof system. This information is provided to bidding Contractors as a courtesy and shall be utilized at the discretion of individual contractors. It is not guaranteed, nor does it relieve bidders of their responsibility to become familiar with the existing conditions. 3. The Work includes: a. Related sheet metal and carpentry work, including new gutter apron, drip edge, and gutters. b. Replacement of the existing insulation and composite OSB/insulation board (nailbase). c. Modifications to the wood nailers and fascia at the eaves, as shown in the Construction Drawings, to allow for ventilation of the new nailbase. C. Kemper Center (Roof Areas 5 & 12) 1. Roof Area 5 (small flat area adjacent to shingle roofs) Includes: a. Removal of existing flat-lock sheet metal roof system. b. Installation of new insulated fully-adhered EPDM single-ply roof system. c. Installation of new perimeter sheet metal. 2. Roof Area 12 (existing shingle roof). Includes: a. Removal of existing asphalt shingles and underlayment down to wood roof deck. b. Installation of a laminated asphalt shingle roof system. 3. The Work also includes: a. Related sheet metal and carpentry work. 1) *Note: on Roof Area 12, perimeter sheet metal drip edge and gutters shall remain in place and be reused. b. Resealing of existing stepped counter flashing on chimneys on Roof Area 12.
