The project consists of pedestrian and vehicular improvements to the Good Samaritan Hospital in the vicinity of Entrance B, including the adjacent surface parking lot and driveways to the Emergency Department. Demolition consists of the removal of asphalt pavement, concrete curb/gutters, concrete sidewalks, a raised slab in the Parking Structure, site light poles and miscellaneous other elements. Erosion control measures shall be installed and maintained throughout the duration of construction. New concrete sidewalks, concrete curb/gutter and asphalt pavement will be installed to make ADA compliant slopes between the Surface Parking Lot/Parking Structure and Hospital Entrance B. Sidewalks will be wider and handrails and bollards installed to assist pedestrians and protect them from vehicles. ADA parking spaces will meet ADA Guidelines and be striped per UK’s standards. All disturbed lawns around the project will be sodded or planted/mulched as indicated on the Plans. Lighting improvements will consist of replacement of existing poles/fixtures with new LED fixtures.
