Specifications include, but are not limited to: HWU’s Water Treatment Plants use PAC for Total Organic Carbon (TOC) reduction as well as to assist with reduction of PFAS chemicals. The North Water Treatment Plant receives raw water from the Ohio River, the SWTP receives raw water from the Green River. Shipments will be scheduled in advance and will need to be of at least 21,000 lbs. in weight every three weeks at the North Plant, as needed at the South Plant. The desired product is WATERCARB 1000 • Iodine # of ≥ 900 mg/g • ANSI/AWWA Standard B600 (latest version) • The PAC shall possess such characteristics that it does not cause problems in the feed system such as but not limited to plugging of the feed system or being corrosive towards the materials used to construct the feed system pumps and piping. • The Super Sack’s used for the PAC should be compatible with the current feed system, with minor temporary modification if needed. • Vendor should have on-site analytical services and technical support available upon request. • Vendors should be those that HWU has previously done business with, or ones that can provide references of similar delivery types and volumes which can be verified by the Operations team.
