Please note: This is a Sole Source Notification. The CorVent Responder ventilator has many features that make it especially beneficial for use in a medical cache. This ventilator requires no annual preventive maintenance which allows for immediate use when required and eliminates cost of annual preventative maintenance along with the unavailability of the units while maintenance is being performed. The user interface is extremely user friendly and intuitive to the user, settings are easy to find and adjust, and it takes less than one hour to train users as compared to other ventilators that take significantly longer. The CorVent Responder reports directly to all electronic care records and can be monitored wirelessly from a remote location by Physicians so they can direct patient care and provide guidance to medical staff. This remote monitoring is advantageous if the ventilators are used in different locations. The CorVent Responder also does not use oxygen to operate as other ventilators on the market require, which reduces the amount of supplies needed and cost required to operate. During the Covid Pandemic the Emergency Preparedness Unit purchased 20 CorVent responder ventilators that were allowed to be utilized under an emergency use authorization (EUA). This authorization is no longer in effect which results in the ventilators currently in the cache to no longer be approved for human use. CorVent Medical has agreed to provide a discount of 39% off the list price of the new model with the trade in of the previously purchased ventilators.
