Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1. All Engineered Wood Fiber (EWF) or Rubber (shredded tire) playground mulch supplied, delivered and installed is to be in accordance with the International Play Equipment Manufacturers Association (IPEMA). 2. All EWF and Rubber playground much must comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and meet ASTM F1951 standards. 3. EWF Mulch a. Must be natural in color, free from any metals, chemicals, dyes and other contaminates; b. Must be cut in a manner as to minimize/eliminate splintering, estimated average of 1” to 2” in length; c. Must comply with the standards outlined in ASTM F1292 and ASTM F2075. 4. Rubber Mulch (shredded tire) a. Must be free of metals and other contaminates; b. Must be colorfast (unable to wipe color off with normal wear); c. Must comply with the standards outlined in ASTM F1292 and ASTM F3012. 5. All bidders are to provide their IPEMA certificates with their bid. DEPTH - It is the desire of the Board to maintain mulch levels at depths of 9”-12” in accordance with the Handbook for Public Playground Safety by the Us Consumer Product Safety Commission.
