The intent of this project is to repair and maintain National Forest System Road by upsizing six stream aligned culverts and applying Best Management Practices (BMP’s) to 5 miles of road. Several of the culverts will require significant excavation for culvert installation and have fill depths ranging from 10 to 20 feet deep. The work behind the barrier on NFSR #1614 needs to be completed within 30 consecutive days. All culvert replacements need to take place during low flow and all in-stream excavation needs to be conducted in a dewatered environment. The project is located in Flathead County, MT on the Hungry Horse Ranger District of the Flathead National Forest near Hungry Horse, MT up Emery Creek approximately 8.5 miles up NFSR #38 on the East side of Hungry Horse reservoir.
