The project is located at the Bullock Overlook at Kingdom Come State Park. The highest point of any State Park in Kentucky. The project includes (3) Cabins which each include a large central room w/ a queen bed, a bunk bed, table & chairs w/ an enclosed bathroom to the rear with a loft above. For R1- Use a stair is required for access to the upper level. A small nook is provided for a mini fridge and a microwave. All three cabins are sized for handicap use although it would make the most sense to only designate the cabin close to the house for ADA use because of its level access and van accessible parking spaces nearby. All cabins would have an exterior porch. These loft-style cabin structures would have basic concrete foundation systems w/ CMU stem walls, and a slab on grade for stick-frame construction. Exterior cladding shall be Cementitious Siding while roof would be asphalt shingles with ice & water shield. The interior would be horizontal v-groove pine with a clear poly finish. Flooring would be LVT. Water and electric capacity exist up on the hilltop for the scope of new work. A new transformer will be needed to feed the new cabins as well as a new cluster-type septic system. Heating and cooling for the new cabins will be provided by PTAC units with additional electric heat in the bathrooms.
