Specifications include, but are not limited to: BEHAVIORAL CARE Create a comprehensive behavioral care system for the Nevada Department of Public Safety (NDPS) that reduces stigma, increases awareness, and normalizes brain health to improve officer and staff wellbeing outcomes. Enhance the existing Peer Support Team by increasing skills and abilities. Increase mental health and wellness access for all NDPS employees (sworn and non-sworn) and provide mental health educational resources to be utilized throughout the grant period. Increase knowledge of a healthy retirement plan by providing NDPS officers tools on redirecting purpose of life. Increase knowledge for those who are retiring or have retired recently and provide services to those in need to provide a healthy path forward. Vendor will provide individual one-on-one mental performance training. SERVICE INTENT Services for officers’ and employee’s mental health wellness and family growth will be offered to NDPS law enforcement personnel both sworn and non-sworn including family members. The training to be delivered by the vendor will increase the skills and abilities of the volunteer members of the Peer Support Team. The advanced training gives a deeper understanding of what the individual may be enduring at any given time, helping the team to recognize many signs of depression, PTSD, addiction issues, and other stressors from the job. Provide knowledge to direct and refer individuals to a higher form of therapy or counseling as needed. Services provided will improve the skills and abilities of the Peer Support Team Members. The vendor will design and provide the training working closely with the peer support team leader to form the training needed to best fit the needs of the team and agency. The training provided to families will assist these individuals to better understand what the officer or civilian may be enduring during difficult times and what type of help may be offered and available. The new knowledge available to many NDPS employees and families will give many a voice and new tools to address many issues that come along with a job in the first responder field. Topics will include suicide prevention, PTSD, depression, critical incidents, addictions, and other mental health issues.
