Specifications include, but are not limited to: HACD intends to implement a cleaning and inspection program for approximately 280 oil furnace venting chimneys located throughout the greater Danbury area. A schedule of units to be serviced will be provided by HACD and must be followed precisely as we are required to provide tenants with advanced notice. The awarded Bidder must adhere to all relevant safety requirements. After each unit is serviced a report of recommended improvements or necessary repairs to maintain the system in proper operating condition must be provided. This report must contain an itemized estimate of parts, material, and labor costs. NO repairs or improvements will be undertaken without specific authorization from HACD. Inspection services will include but not limited to: • Inspect for debris • Inspect damper to ensure proper movement and fit against the smoke shelf • Remove all Deposits greater than 1/8th of an inch • Check for any damaged bricks, flue liners, cracks, etc • Perform Chimney Sweep • CSIA Certified Chimney Sweep • Minimize soot and debris exposure in the home
