Specifications include, but are not limited to: A. Care shall be taken throughout construction to minimize damage to surrounding areas. B. Maintain a temporary barrier and limit access around open borehole at all times. Do not leave boreholes open overnight. Cover borehole with steel plate anytime borehole is unattended by Contractor. C. Drill cuttings may be stockpiled adjacent to the borehole location. Stockpile in a manner as to minimize disturbance to surrounding area. Owner will dispose of stockpile in active area of landfill. D. Sample and inspect cuttings at 5-foot intervals. Record on boring log a general description of refuse, moisture levels, and state of decomposition (i.e. none, slight, moderate, high). E. Termination of borehole: Advance borehole to the specified depth (see well schedule) with care. Note drill torque, pressure, and depth when within 10-feet of bottom of borehole. F. Joints (couplings and bottom cap) to be solvent welded with two lag bolts minimum per joint. Lag bolts shall not penetrate inside pipe wall. Top cap shall be secured with single lag bolt only, not more than 2” below top of well casing. G. Place materials for filter pack and seals slowly and carefully to avoid bridging. H. Metal mesh shall be covered with 12” of clay or general fill to prevent fall and trip hazards. I. Rejection well: A borehole for a gas extraction well that is started and cannot be completed due to subsurface conditions will be considered a rejection well (no piping installed). Rejection wells shall be backfilled by Contractor with material excavated from the borehole...
