Specifications include, but are not limited to: The City is seeking for firms that have the ability to purchase and install lighting and other equipment to public safety and utility vehicles. Vehicles include police, fire, and utility vehicles. The majority of these vehicles will be new model year and have not been placed into service. The City will be asking for upfitting quotes after the City has received confirmation from the vehicle manufacture that they are in production, have been delivered to the dealer, or in possession of the City. A brief summary of the anticipated work is noted below: Police Vehicle: 25 to 30 vehicles annually, upfit to include Black and White SUV’s, Black and White Trucks, unmarked SUV’s, unmarked Trucks, K-9 SUV’s, and K-9 Trucks. The Black and White vehicles will all be upfitted the same way. In this scope of work, a sample of the products will be listed. Firms will be given the opportunity to attend a pre-bid meeting to inspect the City’s current layout. Unmarked SUV’s and Trucks. These will not be upfitted the same and should be considered one off builds. K-9 vehicles. These will not be upfitted the same and should be considered one off builds. Fire vehicles: 3 to 5 vehicles annually, upfit to include SUV’s and Trucks. Each is considered a unique build. Utility vehicles: NOTE: the majority of these vehicles will be upfitted prior to being received by the City and will be out of scope for this RFP. The upfitting will be done in coordination with the dealer. The City plans to have 5 to 10 vehicles that may require upfit service that includes SUV’s and Trucks. These vehicles will not be upfitted the same and should be considered one off builds. The pricing section of this RFP contains a list of brands that may be used in the upfitting of a vehicle. This solicitation is brand name or equal. If bidding brands other than listed in this RFP, please indicate manufacturer, model number, and provide descriptive literature with your proposal response. Alternate brands may require testing by the City before being accepted. All equipment supplied pursuant to this proposal must be new and a current production model as described in the manufacturer’s published literature and specification sheets. All product lines offered must be supported for the warranty period of each product.
