Specifications include, but are not limited to: Refinish and Painting Requirements The successful Bidder is responsible for complete and professional stripping, sanding, sealing and painting of logos and game lines on the basketball floor as depicted in Attachment B. The successful Bidder must notify MECA if any game lines are in conflict with NCAA Men’s Basketball Court guidelines. A. Floor must be sanded to bare wood B. Bare wood must be appropriately prepped to receive sealer, two-tone stains, water-based paints and top coat(s) C. Sealer, stains, paints and top coat(s) must be appropriately and professionally applied D. Game lines must be in accordance with the most recent NCAA Men’s Basketball Court requirements 6. Repairs The successful bidder must inspect the court and make any necessary repairs. Bidders must have previous experience repairing Robbins All-Star Plus portable basketball floors. Only necessary repairs or replacements of the basketball floor affecting the mechanics and/or playability of the floor are to be made. All replacement parts must be identical to the existing. Substitutions are not acceptable. The three items listed below have been repaired or replaced on previous court refinishing. We ask for the bidders to provide unit pricing, knowing that we won’t be able to identify repairs until the successful bidder has inspected the court. A. Maple boards B. Sleepers: sleepers are not required to be painted and partial sleepers may be replaced if necessary. C. Lock brackets If additional repairs/replacements are required, the successful Bidder must notify MECA in writing of the additional repairs and parts. The successful Bidder must provide a detailed list and obtain MECA’s written approval before making the repairs.
