Specifications include, but are not limited to: A licensed medical physician to conduct a military-type sick call on-site for participants. The physician will be required to provide 24 hour support to onsite medical staff via phone, email, and/or text messages, and provide commercial Drivers License (CDL) physicals to staff. The Physician contracted must be able to provide military-type medical services to at risk males and females ages 151/2-18 years of age (some participants will turn 19 years of age while attending) at the Appalachian ChalleNGe Academy. The Academy accommodates approximately 150 participants per class with two classes each year. Physician must be available for intake physicals on the first day of each class cycle, with follow-ups as needed. Physicals will be conducted on-site of Academy. UP to 6 hours per week will be required to perform the following services: Treating all acute and chronic medical conditions. Perform minor surgical procedures. Order lab test and/or x-rays. Write prescriptions Commercial Driver License physicals for staff Perform other medical procedures for which he/she is licensed to perform or order. The Academy registered nurse will assist as needed and will schedule program participants to be seen by physician. The number of participants needing medical services will vary. Sick call evaluations will be conducted on-site.
