The City of Pocatello has secured funding for a project which includes defining the Hawthorne Jensen intersection with curb bulb outs, partial encasement of an irrigation canal, sections of curb and gutter, sidewalks, and rectangular rapid flashing beacons (RRFB) for crossing signals. The project would install as much sidewalk as possible on the east side of Hawthorne Road beginning from Jensen Street and moving in a northerly direction. The project will include a minimum of 60-inch sidewalks and ADA ramps and curb bulb outs. Project scope includes the removal and disposal of existing curb and sidewalk sections, new base preparation, forming/pouring of new curb ramp, curb, gutter, and asphalt patch back per plan. Irrigation encasement must be completed within 3 calendar days. Each curb ramp must be inspected by city staff before asphalt patch back is complete. Contractor is also responsible for traffic control through the duration of the project and must adhere to the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD). Pedestrian access must be maintained on one side of the street at all times
