Specifications include, but are not limited to: Mitigation Supporting Materials: VEM and VTDEC provide a variety of funding to improve landscape and community resilience and reduce future public safety and water quality impacts of climate-related flood hazards in Vermont. Funding sources include FEMA’s Hazard Mitigation Assistance (HMA) Programs, the FRCF program, and other Vermont Clean Water funding sources. While there are many different types of flood mitigation projects, the focus of this content would include: • Elevating building utilities to protect from future inundation; • The use of flood resistant materials for repairs to flood-damaged buildings or for use in new construction; • Home elevations; • Home or building acquisition projects (buyouts), or building relocations; • River Corridor Easements; • Floodplain restoration/reconnection; Part 1 | Website The web content to support flood and climate mitigation will build upon existing website content found at the VTDEC Flood Training website and be incorporated into that website.
